Category

Categories are used to create the folder structure for organizing your showrooms. You can use them to categorize showrooms by product type, events, or any other organizational logic relevant to your application. Categories can also contain sub-categories to create a hierarchical folder system.

The folder structure you create here for your categories will directly affect how showrooms are displayed and organized in the Explorer View of the app, not in the CMS.

Creating a Category

To create a new category, click the + Create new entry button in the top right corner. In the form that appears, you will define the details for your new category.

  • Name: Use the Name field to provide a descriptive name for your folder.
  • ParentCategory: Use this field to assign the new category to an existing category, creating a subfolder. Leave it empty to create a top-level category.
  • Image: This field allows you to upload an image that will be displayed for the category folder in the Explorer View.

Organizing Showrooms into Categories

It is important to note that organizing showrooms into the categories you create is a two-step process:

  1. First, create and save your category here.
  2. Then, navigate to the Showroom Collection Type. In the Edit View for a specific showroom, you can assign it to the folder you just created.
